Project e
nds
Each Partner Organization must build a delegation composed by 6 participants 18
-
25 years old
and a group leader over 18 years old of both sexes who are interested on the topic and able to
communicate in English language.
Participants per partner org
anization
: 6 young people + 1 group leader
Partner Organizations are kindly asked to apply the following criteria when selecting the
participants:
Moreover, equality of chances is one of the values shared by Iniziativa Democratica and its
partners; we wi
ll not tolerate any kind of discrimination throughout this project, especially
regarding the selection of the participants. The main selection criteria will be participants'
motivation and interest on the project’s topic. Priority should be given to young
people that do not
have previous mobility experiences.
Who we are
Iniziativa democratica is a non profit organization, actively involved in the youth field at
local,
regional and European level. We support the dream of United States of Europe. We
would
like
to bring new opportunities to young people, help them to develop new skills
and
competences,
encourage them to be active in local communities, to be participative
and
active citizen.
To
give
the opportunity to anyone that wishes to better our local o
r international communities.
To
build
tolerance, respect and a better
world.
Introductions
A
lso known as
gender
-
based violence
and
sexual and gender
-
based violence
(
SGBV
)
is,
collectively, violent acts that are primarily or exclusively committed against w
omen
and
girls.
Sometimes considered an hate crime this type of violence is gender
-
based,
meaning
that the
acts of violence are committed against women and girls expressly because they are female.
The UN
Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against W
omen
states, "violence against women
is a manifestation of historically unequal power relations between men and women" and
"violence against women is one of the crucial social mechanisms by
which
women are forced
into a subordinate position compared with m
en."
Goals of the project
To realize that gender discrimination is a huge problem and think about solutions for a
better society.
Encourage young participants to promote gender equality in their own
societies/families/work places/etc.
Intercultural awaren
ess through the interaction between people from various
backgrounds, cultures, and traditions.
Share common values and European citizenship by living together for a week,
participating in common activities and sharing experiences in non
-
formal
education.
P
rogram and activities: see the attached file :
-
)
The project methodology
is based on methods of non
-
formal learning, peer learning, active
involvement of the participants and equal cooperation between the partners. All activities
have an interactive chara
cter, promote experiential learning, require the active participation of
young people and enhance their critical sense.
Profile of participants:
Participant’s age: 18
-
25, leader without age limit
.
Participants must be
interested in the topic of the projec
t and they should be able to communicate in English and
ready to participate in each activity.
